What is ECO HUB AFRICA?

The background of the project is the very high unemployment among the Ugandan youth. By trying to provide crucial infrastructures such as a reliable electricity supply, water, internet and premises for working, ECO HUB AFRICA enables young people to think creatively and independently and thus prepares them for a working life in a globalised world.

- EMPOWERING YOUNG CREATIVES -

Purpose of the project

Through various events and exhibitions, an awareness for creative work in the local community is develop and future opportunities for the inhabitants* are shown. At the same time, the project seeks to establish cooperation between the artists and the school. The pupils* should learn to work in an artistic way by working together in order to develop their own ideas for an independent and autonomous future.
A basic idea of the project is to enable children from disadvantaged backgrounds to receive adequate education.

Our trust person at site: Geofrey

„Hi I am Geofrey, founder of the school project at the ECO HUB AFRICA Labs and Classes in my home district Kasese, Uganda, East Africa. We wish to sponsor the kids‘ education, construct permanent classes and offer class materi- als to kids in the community since most children are from families with 6-15 children and education is not possible with their parents living on just a dollar or two a day. A small donation and sharing the project with friends to help us reach our goal would mean a lot to these kids and the community. Lets spread the Love and give a young child access to quality education.“

How did the project come about?

Lisa & Tobi want to support the project after their stay. In the meantime approx. 110 children are attending the school. This is a great sign that the students love attending school and the project is very well accepted in the village. With the new children, however, further challenges have arisen. For about 70 families it is not possible or very difficult to raise the school fees of about five Euro per month. As a result, it is not possible to hire new teachers for the school. For Geofrey, the project manager of the ECO HUB AFRICA and the two teachers* who have been teaching at the school so far, it is difficult to arrange the school lessons appropriately. In addition to the school, Geofrey also runs a small grocery store whose profits are currently benefiting the school. Therefore it is our objective to support the school education of the children financially and to arrange the lessons with sufficient teachers.
